I think so many people get caught up in the notion of being perfect that they forget we are all sinners. No one person is perfect, except for Jesus and He was the Son of God. I think your post was spot on.

Thank you so much for this post.
As I was reading it, I was reminded of one of my favourite Psalms. Psalm 51, which I pray often, when I am struggling with a sin or any habit or temptation. I am so grateful that we serve a God who is all knowing and understands our weaknesses and that He is so merciful and forgiving.

I don’t actually journal as I pray, but I do jot down those things that come to mind that distract me as I pray. They may be someting I need to do during the day, such as my weekly meeting with my boss or it may be something I need to say to one of my family members or something ‘silly’ such as ‘that tap is dripping, I must get if fixed’. Whatever distracts me – I jot it down and prayer for each distraction at the end of my prayer time.
