Draw Jesus to your Heart!

Author: Kevin and Corrie  //  Category: Uncategorized

It is not our prayer which draws Jesus into our hearts. Nor is it our prayer which moves Jesus to come in to us. All He needs is access. He enters in of His own accord, because He desires to come in. And He enters in wherever He is not denied admittance. ~~ O. Hallesby

If any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in.
~~ Revelation 3:20

It is the will of our heavenly Father that we should come to Him freely and confidently and make known our desires to Him, just as we would have our children come freely and of their own accord and speak to us about the things they would like to have. ~~ O. Hallesby

(It was that Mary which anointed the Lord with ointment, and wiped his feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick.) ~~ Luke 11:2

Therefore his sisters sent unto him, saying, Lord, behold, he whom thou lovest is sick. ~~ Luke 11:3

It can be tough!

Have you ever thought about how you got to where you are today as far as your finances go? I was thinking about that the other day and wondered how we got to where we are and how it could have been different. Finances are hard to talk about.

I remember when we first got married; we sat down and wrote down all of our bills on a sheet of paper. Then we wrote down the monthly payment and when it was due. Then we figured out which bills would be paid with which pay check.

The thing that gets to me the most is what you do when you pay off a bill. Most people will go out and get another loan and there goes that money. You should take that money and apply it to another bill. Easier said than done I know. Trust me I know!

There are a lot of websites that contain personal finance articles and tips on how to get out of debt or stay out of debt. You should read any and all articles you can find. You don’t want to get in to deep or any deeper if you are already in debt.

Good luck!

Malachi 3:3

Author: Kevin and Corrie  //  Category: Uncategorized

Malachi 3:3 says: ‘He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver.’

This verse puzzled some women in a Bible study and they wondered what this statement meant about the character and nature of God.

One of the women offered to find out the process of refining silver and get back to the group at their next Bible Study.

That week, the woman called a silversmith and made an appointment to watch him at work. She didn’t mention anything about the reason for her interest beyond her curiosity about the process of refining Silver

As she watched the silversmith, he held a piece of silver over the fire and let it heat up. He explained that in refining silver, one needed to hold the silver in the middle of the fire where the flames were hottest as to burn away all the impurities.

The woman thought about God holding us in such a hot spot; then she thought again about the verse that says: ‘He sits as a refiner and purifier of silver.’ ; ; ;She asked the silversmith if it was true that he had to sit there in front of the fire the whole time the silver was being refined.

The man answered that yes, he not only had to sit there holding the silver, but he had to keep his eyes on the silver the entire time it was in the fire. If the silver was left a moment too long in the flames, it would be destroyed

The woman was silent for a moment Then she asked the silversmith, ‘How do you know when the silver is fully refined?’

He smiled at her and answered, ‘Oh, that’s easy — when I see my image in it.’

If today you are feeling the heat of the fire, remember that God has his eye on you and will keep watching you until He sees His image in you.

Pass this on right now. This very moment, someone needs to know that God is watching over them.

And, whatever they’re going through, they’ll be a better person in the end.

‘Life is a coin. You can spend it anyway you wish, but you can only spend it once.’

God’s order and God’s permissive will

Author: Kevin and Corrie  //  Category: Uncategorized

We learn by prayer to detect the difference between God’s order and God’s permissive will. God’s order is – no pain, no sickness, no devil, no war, no sin: His permissive will is all these things, the “soup” we are in just now. What a man needs to do is to get hold of God’s order in the kingdom on the inside, and then he will begin to see how to handle the riddle of the universe on the outside. ~~ O. Chambers

A few posts ago we talked about debt management. In this post we are going to talk about a credit card that you can use when your credit is not the greatest.

When a person gets into some financial trouble and their credit rating goes down or they have to file bankruptcy it can be hard to get a loan. It can be just as hard to get a credit card. A credit card is almost a necessity anymore. A lot of places don’t except checks anymore, so a credit card is a must.

Wouldn’t it be cool if you could get 10 offers on different cards just like you can get 4 offers on a home loan? I think that would be so cool! Check this out, if you are in need of a credit card, why not get a quote for your very own set of bad credit cards.

Why is Easter early??

Author: Kevin and Corrie  //  Category: Uncategorized

I couldn’t figure out why Easter was in March this year instead of April. So I went online and did some searching and this is what I found out.

I thought you might be interested in this trivia. The date of this coming Easter is quite early this year, but I didn’t recognize the details shown below.

Easter is always the 1st Sunday after the 1st full moon after the Spring Equinox (which is March 20). This dating of Easter is based on the lunar calendar that Hebrew people used to identify Passover, which is why it moves around on our Roman calendar.

Here’s the interesting info. This year is the earliest Easter any of us will ever see the rest of our lives! And only the most elderly of our population have ever seen it this early (95 years old or above!). And none of us have ever, or will ever, see it a day earlier! Here’s the facts:

1) The next time Easter will be this early (March 23) will be the year 2228 (220 years from now). The last time it was this early was 1913 (so if you’re 95 or older, you are the only ones that were around for that!).

2) The next time it will be a day earlier, March 22, will be in the year 2285 (277 years from now). The last time it was on March 22 was 1818. So, no one alive today has or will ever see it any earlier than this year!

Let me ask you a question. Have you ever wrecked your vehicle and had no idea what to do? Let me tell you what, I have. Last winter I was on my way to the orthodontist office and wreck my truck. I was stopped at the intersection waiting for the light to change. I got the arrow and I went. Low and behold, there was a car still in the intersection and we collided. This was pretty much the first accident I had ever been involved in. I was so upset I was crying and I didn’t know what to do.

My insurance agent was so wonderful. She helped me through everything. She allowed me to go to her office to call the other agent, she helped me fill out the paper work, and she helped me get everything settled after we had the truck fixed. I was so glad she was willing to help me.

Now in this day and age, just about everywhere you go you must have insurance. We are so busy these days that it’s really hard to find time to go to your insurance agent’s office to get your insurance set up and make payments. This is where the internet comes in handy. You are able to get quotes, make payments, and report changes or accidents all from the comfort of your own living room. That is a great thing.

The other bad thing is that insurance can be expensive. Insurance can be as expensive as a gallon of milk. We could all use Cheap Car Insurance with the price of everything else. So if you are in need of insurance, check out this Cheap Car Insurance site today.

March special

Author: Kevin and Corrie  //  Category: Uncategorized

Dear Friend,

Hi everyone!

March is here and for us, it went in like a lamb. I suppose that’s not good, since that means it will probably go out like a lion. Well, it’s hard to say, but spring is on its way. We are looking for to spring.

Both of our boys are playing basketball right now. Josh won his last game and did very well at blocking and rebounding. Chris won his first game of the season as well. He rebounded 3 times and passed the ball to someone else to make the shot. Both were great games to watch!

March is also a great time to raise money for your summer projects and trips. Make sure you check out our fundraiser page for details on how we can help you make money for your projects and trips.

What Is the Story Behind Easter?

Easter is the most religous day of the year, to most christians. It’s the day Jesus arose from the dead. It’s a festive holiday with spring colors, easter eggs, flowers, and bunnies. How does Jesus’s resurrection correlate with eggs and bunnies? How did his resurection correspond with Easter?

Easter has been celebrated, since at least, the fourth century and an annual celebration of the resurrection. Even when some churches did’nt accept some of the religous holidays, Easter has always been a special day for christians.

Before the fourth century, christians celebrated “Pascha or Pesach”, adapted from the Jews. Pesach was a celebration of the crucifixtion and resurrection of Jesus, this was celebrated in spring. Many gentile christians did’nt want to accept Jewish traditions but gradually, after the fourth century, Easter became an accepted holiday.
