Ephesians 5:3-5

Author: Kevin and Corrie  //  Category: Uncategorized

But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints; Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks. For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.

Ephesians 5:3-5 (King James Version)

The Word…

Author: Kevin and Corrie  //  Category: Uncategorized

Loving the Word of God is an acquired taste. I say that because when you seek Jesus through the scriptures, quite frankly, sometimes He makes statements that sound absolutely contradictory!

Consider the following:

* In order gain mercy, first you must give it. (Matthew 5:7)
* In order to find your life, first you must lose it. (Matthew 10:39)
* In order to lead, first you must serve. (Matthew 20:26)

After trying to make sense of these and several other verses, I was lead to the story of Abraham in Genesis Ch. 22. Here, the Father of Faith is instructed to exercise his assurance in God’s provision by taking his beloved son, Isaac, and presenting him as a sacrifice. I’m thinking, “Whoa . . . . this is another contradiction!” If a man took his child on a mountaintop today and said he was going to slay him as a sacrifice because God told him to, he would be arrested and probably put in a mental ward! But as I continued reading, these clouds of confusion started to evaporate . . .

Abraham was willing to give up what he could see (a son), in order to gain that which he could not see (a promise). Here is the reality of Abraham’s example for us today: those that part with any thing for God, shall have it made up to them with unspeakable advantage. And because it is so, I need to tell you that the difference between the life you have right now and the life that God wants for you is based on the decisions you make and where Christ factors into those decisions.

Everything starts & stops with God. That’s one of the reasons why He is the Alpha & Omega. Think about it: Life starts with God. Life ends with God. However, the time between the beginning and the end does not have to include God. And that’s why you must know it is indeed possible to see the unseen, hear the unspoken and comprehend the misunderstood.

Our LORD often uses statements or speaks to us in ways that initially might make you scratch your head and wonder “Did I hear Him right? Is that what He meant to say?” But rest assured, you’re facing a faith test. And the best teachers never speak while the test is going on. They just monitor progress.

Author: Kevin and Corrie  //  Category: Uncategorized

In God’s name, I beseech you, let prayer nourish your soul as your meals nourish your body. Let your fixed seasons of prayer keep you in God’s presence through the day, and His presence frequently remembered though it be an ever-fresh spring of prayer.

The goal of prayer is the ear of God, a goal that can only be reached by patient and continued and continuous waiting upon Him, pouring out our heart to Him, and permitting Him to speak to us…As we come to know Him better we shall spend more time in His presence and find that presence a constant and ever-increasing delight. ~~ E.M. Are you Listening?

Author: Kevin and Corrie  //  Category: Uncategorized

God speaks to us through his Holy Word and he is trying to reach many of us today. Do you believe on the Lord Jesus Christ? Have you accepted his invite to come into your heart? The Bible says Jesus is knocking at the door of your heart and anyone who opens the door and lets him in he will come and sup with them. (Revelation 3:20)

Time is drawing near to the return of Christ, Jesus, our Savior, and Lord. The Biblical signs point toward his coming being near but none of us know when our last moment on earth will be individually. Your life could cease in an instant, if so will you stand before God blameless or guilty? The Bible says like in the days of Noah so shall the coming of the son of man be. The Bible says everyone after Adam was born into sin and stand guilty before him. The Bible also says that no righteousness lies within us of our own accord, it says all our righteousness is like filthy rags. (Isaiah 64:6) Jesus is righteousness. (Romans 5:17-19)

The Bible says the wages of sin is death. Sin=death! How shall I take care of my sin debt so that I can live you ask? God speaks through his word to answer that question, “My Son, Jesus”

Getting to know God!

Author: Kevin and Corrie  //  Category: Uncategorized

God is always within call, it is true; His ear is ever attentive to the cry of His child, but we can never get to know Him if we use the vehicle of prayer as we use the telephone — for a few words of hurried conversation. Intimacy requires development. We can never know God as it is our privilege to know Him by brief repetitions that are requests for personal favors and nothing more. That is not the way in which we can come into communication with heaven’s King.
