Sin is Death. Is There a Solution?

Author: Kevin and Corrie  //  Category: Devotionals

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:23 (KJV)

Everyone sins daily. Not even the writers of the Bible are exempt. Let’s take Saul for example.

At first Saul was not a believer and he did ungodly things. He killed people that followed Jesus. Then Jesus spoke to him in a blinding light and asked why he was persecuting him. Saul said, “Who are you.” Jesus said, “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting.” At that point Saul knew Jesus was real. Saul became blind for several days. Then God sent three men to minister to him. He accepted Jesus as his Savior and God changed his name to Paul. God is just and fair and because he heard Paul’s prayer he forgave his sin and granted him eternal life.

Romans 6:23 says “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” If you have sinned or you continue to sin, you need to ask for forgiveness. Once you ask for forgiveness, God is merciful and will forgive.

God is merciful to forgive all of the sins that people commit and repent of each day. Those who refuse to repent are condemned, but he forgives those that ask for it. We are not to refuse to forgive either, because that’s sinning too. It may be hard, but we need to let go of things and let God handle them.

If you find it’s hard to stop sinning, you need to ask God to help you and guide you through this difficult time, then listen to him and do what he tells you to do. God will not ask you to do anything that is bad or evil. He won’t ask you to do anything that is against the law. If you have those feelings, the devil is trying to confuse you. You need to resist him and he will flee from you, according to God’s word.

Here is a prayer you can say to help you get through this difficult time.

Dear Lord, I praise and thank you for all you have done and will do in my life. I have sinned and I know that’s wrong. I ask for forgiveness of all my sins. Thank you for helping and guiding me through this difficult time and showing me what is right and was is wrong. I thank you for the strength to stand strong when evil tries to get in, in Jesus name. Amen

Now is the Time to Worship

This is a song that we sang in our Easter Service at church. It’s such a beautiful song and it really makes you think about the Lord. It shows you why you should give your heart to the Lord.

Listen to the song on the YouTube video below and let us know what you think.

Can you resist the devil

Author: Kevin and Corrie  //  Category: Verses & Quotes

Are there times in your life when you find yourself doing things you know you shouldn’t do? This can be something as simple as foods you know you shouldn’t have or it can be a little more complex like calling in sick when you want to play for the day.

James 4:7 says, “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”

This means when you have God on your side you’ll make the right decisions. You’ll be able to resist the things you shouldn’t do. When you continue to do the right thing, those evil thoughts will flee from you and you won’t have those feelings.

Remember James 4:7 when you’re having a hard time submitting yourself to God. He’s there for you and he’ll guide you through the temptations.

Jesus loves me

You’ve heard the song, Jesus loves me right?

This is a wonderful song that everyone she know. It’s important that you should sing regularly. The words are important because Jesus loves everyone. Even when we sin or do wrong.

Watch this cute little girl sing the song.

Something else you need to remember is that Jesus is loves you no matter what. He’s wants you to feel good about yourself and he’ll help you to feel that way everyday.

Here is a new addition to the song that one of the ladies in our church spoke about yesterday. “Jesus loves me and wants me healed, whole, blessed, and delivered this I know for the Bible tells me so.” You should consider adding this to your daily prayer.

What does Faith mean to You

Author: Kevin and Corrie  //  Category: Weekly Wisdom

Faith can mean different things to different people. It depends on your believes and what is going on in your life at the time you’re thinking about it.

Picture came from Mike Chitty

To me faith is when you believe in God. You know that he will guide you through any situation you may be in at the time and you trust in him. Faith is trusting in God to see you through anything. When you have faith, you’ll know that all is well.

Here is an acronym that I heard a while back in church. To me it’s perfect and couldn’t have been said better.

FAITH – Fantastic Abundance In Trusting Him

What do you think about this and how does it make you feel when you think about faith?

Uncertain times

Author: Kevin and Corrie  //  Category: Weekly Wisdom

In uncertain times some may feel scared and alone. God doesn’t want you to feel that way. He is always there for you, no matter what situation you are in.

The devil comes to steal, kill, and destroy, but God comes to bring you life and have it more abundantly. He wants you to have everything you need and then some.

When the uncertain times come and you are hit with fear and you feel like you are in this world all alone, turn to God. Let him show you that you don’t have to feel this way. Let him show you that he is there for you no matter what happens in your life. No matter what the devil trys to throw your way, God can get you through it.

Turn to God in every situation that comes up, pray to him for a release of all fear and evil feelings. When you do this, you’ll feel much better about your life and you’ll be happy.

Pray to God not your problem

Author: Kevin and Corrie  //  Category: Verses & Quotes

When you have a problem and you decide to pray to God about it, you need to keep your eyes on him not your problem. The problem will be resolved, but it will be more difficult if you focus on the problem and not on the solution. 2 Chronicles 20:12 says “Our eyes are upon thee.” This means your eyes need to be on God not your problem.

Stay focused on God and he will solve your problem and you will be able to move on. Pray for the solution and then thank God for it each time you think about it. Don’t let the devil try to get in and try to convince you that you are not getting anywhere with God. He comes but for one thing and that’s to kill, steal, and destroy. Don’t let him win. Focus on God and you will win!

Do you receive what you ask the Lord for?

Author: Kevin and Corrie  //  Category: Verses & Quotes
I read a quote today that made perfect sense. I had never thought about it that way before, but it is so true. The quote is from O. Hallesby and it’s below.

“If God does not give you something you ask for, wait on Him. He will speak with you tenderly and sympathetically about the matter, until you yourself understand that He cannot grant your prayer.”

I was thinking about this quote and it came to me. It’s possible that the reason why God is not going to grant your prayer is because you are either not supposed to have whatever you asked for or you must go about it a different way. This could mean you have to work harder to get what you want because it’s not going to be handed to you or it could mean that what would happen after you received what you prayed about would have a negative outcome.

Just because you didn’t get what you wanted doesn’t mean God does not listen to your prayers. Let him speak to you and he will explain why he is not going to give it to you. You might be relieved and thankful in the end.

God knows what you need, so thank him for it!

Author: Kevin and Corrie  //  Category: Verses & Quotes
Many know that God knows what we need before we even ask it. Matthew 6:8 says Your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him. So if this is the case, then we need to make sure when we ask, we thank him immediately for the result. When we continue to thank him for these things, the devil can’t get in and try to take it away.

The devil is here to kill, steal, and destroy and if we let him in, he will do is best and could very well succeed. We don’t want him to do this, so it’s very important that we stand strong on our faith and that we continue to pray and thank God for what we ask for.

So the next time you are in need of something, make sure you ask and then thank God for the result. Be specific as to what it is and then stand strong and wait for the result to happen.

Do you journal when you pray?

Author: Kevin and Corrie  //  Category: Verses & Quotes

Journaling when you pray is something that very few people do. They either don’t see the need, they don’t know they should, or they don’t have the time. Journaling is something that can come in handy when you are doing your Bible study each day or week. You can reflect on the activities you have done for the week and what you have asked God for.

We should pray on a regular basis. Even if it’s just a prayer thanking God for a wonderful day and to release the angels around your family and friends to make their way safe in whatever they have planned for that day. You may think you are going to have a perfect day and when you pray first thing in the morning, you will have a great day.

So set that alarm for ten or fifteen minutes earlier than normal or don’t hit the snooze but so many times. Start your day off with prayer and have a wonderful day.
